5 Keys to Finding Your Passion
I was struggling.
It seemed that nothing I did really worked for me.
I didn’t enjoy work.
Then I still remember a discussion with one of my friends, Yasser, whom I consider a mentor, even though he is younger than me.
I told Yasser:
I don’t want to work.
I don’t enjoy working.
Yes, I know it’s a fancy corporate job with good pay, but I am only living 25% of my life. The other 75% is either work or sleep.”
His reply was simple.
His reply was straightforward.
He didn’t even take a moment to think it out.
He said,
“Then work on something you love. Work on something that you are passionate about. What do you like to do?”
Unlike him,
I took a moment to think.
To try to resist his solution.
To try to prove that I was not wrong.
After a sad, weird silence, I told him,
“I do not know. There is nothing I enjoy working on.”
As simple as the question could be, my answer was hard.
